Here is the answer to the question selected.

Q.

What is the minimum age limit to train as a teacher of dance?

A.

We would hope that when you start your dance education you will continue to adulthood. In fact when you start taking your amateur examinations you have begun the process of training to become a Teacher of Dance. All of your amateur exams both grade and medal tests are the build up to the Associate examination. Within the BATD the minimum age for an Associate in all branches is 16 years.
The next step in the exam process would be Membership. This exam can be taken as long as you are a minimum of 18 years of age and have had a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in the branch of examination. The final step in the process is the Fellowship examination. This examination can be taken 2 years after your Membership. North American candidates need to contact Head Office regarding this exam for eligibility status. If you have further questions regarding your eligibility for examinations please contact Heather Gold at heather.gold@batd.co.uk
